We would like to say thank you to everyone: our family, friends and the Baytown community for coming to Lowell Cox's visitation today. Our family loves you and appreciates all your kindness, thoughts and prayers this past week. It has been difficult to respond to each post and comment but we can’t thank everyone enough for their kind words and support during this difficult time. We have enjoyed reading the personal stories and memories you all have shared with Lowell and it is comforting to know how many lives he touched throughout Baytown. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all ❤️ ... See MoreSee Less

Rooster's Steakhouse

Thank you, David Berkowitz (The Baytown Project) for sharing such kind words about our father and grandfather, Lowell ❤️We were saddened to hear that Lowell Cox passed away this week. We got a chance to visit with him for a few posts that appeared last fall.

The longtime owner of Rooster’s Steakhouse showed up to work as long as his body would allow, and he left the business in the capable hands of his children. Thankful for the support of local customers, he and his wife, Freda, gave back to the community in a variety of ways through the years.

“Baytown has always been extremely good to me and my family. I have tried very hard to give back, and my boys have continued what I started. You’ve got to be willing to put back into the community. We’ve been fortunate enough to be able to do that. It’s something that I wanted to do. It’s something that my wife wanted to do. And it has paid big dividends. Knowing that you haven’t just taken, that you’ve done your part to help people, makes you sleep better at night.”
