Fondren history uncovered today as workmen digging the new island at the "point" uncovered remains of the street car line that used to run from downtown Jackson to the Asylum Heights/Fondren area. This location where State and Old Canton meet was the turn around point for the line. Note the one very visible track in the lower right and the slightly exposed other track in the upper left.
